—Using official data submitted by the Romanian Institute of Statistics, this paper aims to make an analysis of the Romanian companies` innovation capacity and their classification based on this criterion. Monitoring the evolution of research and innovation is an ongoing process in the economy of any country. At the same time, improvement and stimulation of innovative processes in all fields is an essential goal of government policies.
