Nowadays, we hear more and more complains about the quality of the Romanian educational system that decreased over the last decades. Therefore, one of the three pillars of the 2018-2030 strategy regarding the education system is "the adaptability of the educational system to external changes and trends of the future". As everybody may notice, trends change with every new generation. Those who are now students, the so-called members of the Z-generation are different from those before them. The authors consider that to identify the best teaching methods for increasing the efficiency of the educational process, it is necessary to address to the representatives of the Z generation. Starting from their expectations, a more efficient strategy can be developed. This will lead to an increase in the quality of the educational activities and a better integration of the graduates on the labor market. The authors chose two universities in Romania (University "Politehnica" of Bucharest and University of Petrosani) for the pilot sample and leaded several focus groups that aimed to identify students` dissatisfaction and expectations towards the educational process. After analyzing the results, there were identified several elements that can be implemented in the didactic process for improving it.
