The paper discusses the growing importance of intelligent and adaptive planning methods supported by multi-objective optimization, heuristic algorithms, Internet of Things technologies and Digital Twin concepts. The results emphasize that effective production management requires the integration of strategic, tactical and operational planning levels and continuous data exchange between information systems and shop-floor equipment. Finally, the Romanian industrial context is examined, indicating favorable conditions for the adoption of Smart Factory solutions, while also underlining the challenges related to system integration, data standardization and workforce development.
